Goodbye to Alaska
We Drove back from Fairbanks, through Delta Junction, my old home town stopping only briefly at the old Homestead I lived in for a few years as a kid. We overnighted in a cool little cabin in Paxon, (just about the only accomodation around). We arrived in anchorage road-weary and spent a week doing citified things. The kids loved the ice rink in the Dimond Mall, and we found an indoor pool. It rained almost our entire last week which seems about right. My memory of growing up around Anchorage is of long grey rainy days. Our final thoughts on Alaska - a great place to visit and be from, beautiful scenery and some Kindred spirits, but maybe not our ideal living spot.
